Fender launched their new Telecaster Custom in 1972 which sported a Wide Range Humbucker in the neck position and a traditional telecaster bridge/single coil bridge pickup. The Telecaster Custom featured Gibson inspired independent volume/tone controls per pickup via 4 potentiometers with numbered knobs and a 3 way selector switch on the top horn.

This specific guitar is in near mint condition having been perfectly preserved in its included original hardshell case under a bed for the last 53 years. There are only 2 small minimal dings on the top that are too small to photograph (1/16th of an inch/pencil tip sized) that could certainly be buffed out. Everything is original about this guitar and it even includes the ashtray bridge cover so we have rated it at near mint excellent. The frets are in exceptional condition and the truss rod is full functioning. The potentiometers and output jack are clean and static free. This guitar is a true time machine relic and is ready to hit the stage or recording studio.
