The G&L Fullerton Legacy (2021) with a quilted maple top in Blackburst is a high-end, USA-made interpretation of Leo Fender’s final evolution of the classic Strat-style design, combining vintage tone with modern refinements. Built in Fullerton, California, this model features a bolt-on maple neck with a comfortable “Modern Classic” profile, a 25.5" scale length, and a trio of G&L CLF-100 Alnico single-coil pickups that deliver the bright, articulate “’50s-style” chime and quack associated with early Fender designs. The addition of a quilted maple top with a Blackburst finish elevates it aesthetically, giving it a more boutique, figured look, contributes to a balanced, resonant tone. A standout feature is G&L’s PTB (Passive Treble and Bass) system, which allows independent control of treble and bass across all pickups—offering more tonal flexibility than traditional Strat wiring—along with the Dual-Fulcrum vibrato bridge for smooth action and excellent tuning stability. Altogether, this guitar represents a premium, player-focused instrument that blends classic feel, expanded tonal control, and custom-shop-level visual appeal.
